Music Makes Housework Tolerable
Welcome back for another installment of Music Monday! Today is housecleaning day, and as much as I dislike doing mundane chores, they would be impossible to perform without music.There is no method or madness to the music I choose for housecleaning; most often I just turn on the radio and listen to a genre until I tire of it and move on to the next.
This week I’ve decided to put together a short playlist of some of the songs I listened to earlier in the day to help facilitate my housecleaning efforts…

Music makes just about anything tolerable. The song choices for this weeks Music Choices are awesome. Like a Stone by Audioslave is one of my favorites.

I haven't listened to music while housecleaning (unless you count Nick Jr. on the TV in the background), but I can imagine that listening to music while housecleaning would make it more tolerable!
Maria, I forget you have a toddler. I used to do housework to the annoying sounds of "Yo, Gabba, Gabba."
~races in late to comment~ Well being a survivor of the late 60's early 70's I kinda like stuff that makes you want to bang your head against a hard object, Black Sabbath, Steppenwolf or even some obscure Led Zepplin. The dreadmill gets a real workout when I crank up those tunes, until I hear the stomping of feet from above telling me it may be a little too loud

My son takes over the radio/music when we are in the car so I love being able to listen to what I want when we are at home. Usually it's the Beatles but anything acoustic and relaxing helps me get through the day!
Tara, I agree with wanting to relax at home. I used to be into heavy rock music, but now much of it inspires a major headache.
One would not be possible without the other! Having a bad taste of housework from my childhood, I needed to change my attitude to the chores by listening to music, otherwise, I would be living in filth (and my family would probably nominate me for some bad housekeeping reality show to get free psychological help!

Depending on how I feel about my housework at the time. I have a quick playlist with the most corniest music on it which enables me to get my chores done in a jiffy. As some of the music is just intolerable and as my hands are tied up I am unable to change it. Then I have a few 'Aaah, today I really don't mind cleaning/ironing,' playlists. All in all music makes 'Housework Happen'!

There something about Spanish music that when played my hips automatically move. Maybe it's a hereditary twitch of some sort but anything Latin would be my pick to get me motivated to clean house.
Rareruby, I love Spanish music, and it gets me moving, too. Not hereditary, of course, but Latin music is awesome!
